🌿 Restore the Play Space. Protect the Children. 💛

 

Several years ago, thanks to generous hearts like yours, we were able to transform a simple dirt area into a beautiful, functional space for the children at UOCC.

What was once bare ground became a place filled with life—
✨ A space to play, laugh, and grow
✨ A place to wash clothes and gather
✨ A safe area that helped meet important government requirements
✨ A foundation that even supported health efforts like reducing standing water and mosquito exposure

With the addition of pavers and turf, this space quickly became the heart of daily life for the children.

And oh, how they have used it. 💛

 

⚠️ But now… it’s no longer safe.

After years of constant use and heavy rainy seasons, the space has significantly deteriorated:

♦ The turf is worn out, torn, and filled with hidden holes

♦ The ground beneath has shifted, creating dips and uneven surfaces

♦ Children are now at risk of twisting or spraining ankles while playing

♦ Water is pooling instead of draining properly

♦ These puddles are creating unhealthy conditions and breeding grounds for mosquitoes

What was once a blessing has now become a safety and health concern—and this space is still required for the children.

 

🛠️ What Needs to Be Done

To fully restore this vital area, we must:

✔️ Remove the existing turf and pavers
✔️ Re-level and properly prepare the entire ground area
✔️ Install proper drainage to prevent future water buildup
✔️ Lay new pavers from fence to dormitory
✔️ Install new, safe turf for the children to play on

 

💛 A Beautiful Provision Already Given

We are so grateful that a ministry friend has already stepped in to cover a large portion of this project by purchasing and transporting the new turf—an incredible $2,500 gift!

 

🙏 Remaining Need: $3,500

To complete the project, we are trusting God to provide the remaining funds:

♥ $1,800 – Turf installation and ground preparation

♥ $1,700 – Paver repair, leveling, and labor

 

Total Project Cost: $6,000

This isn’t just about fixing a play area.

♥ Keeping children safe from injury

♥ Protecting their health by eliminating standing water

♥ Providing a space where they can play, grow, and simply be kids

♥ Ensuring we continue to meet requirements to care for them well

We are praying to have this project fully funded and completed by the end of April, just in time for our May trip and Bible Camp—so the children can run, play, and enjoy every moment safely.
